(That's me on the left. Jess is the one with the great hair.)
I built my first website in 2013, but we officially started the business in 2020, in the thick of the Covid pandemic. We did Google Ads back then, but we ended up building websites for our clients as most of theirs weren’t suitable for Google Ads.
We enjoy website projects because we can guarantee that our clients are happy every time. We don’t have to depend on a third party like Google to deliver results. Having happy clients is genuinely the most important thing to us.
It often feels like business owners only have three options for getting a website:
- Build it yourself on Wix, GoDaddy, etc., and it always comes out looking self-built and rubbish.
- Pay a small fee and get a poor-quality website built for you.
- Pay thousands of pounds for a great website.
We're the fourth option: great websites at a very reasonable price. This means businesses of any size can have an online presence they're proud of.
Sure, we've got some high-profile clients like Applied Nutrition and the University of Aberdeen. But we're most proud of the 250+ websites that we’ve built for small businesses. When you give a small business a great site, it makes a big difference.
We build about 20 new websites a month and support around 250 businesses with hosting, updates and website security.
We find that communication with our clients is key, and it’s something we’re always working to improve. It’s a major factor in client satisfaction — especially for those who’ve had bad experiences with other agencies:
- We reply to clients very quickly.
- We always keep them in the loop on progress.
- Every client gets three people they can speak to. That way, there’s always someone available to answer questions or give updates.
We're focused on growing the business — building more beautiful, cost-effective websites and supporting more clients.
Jess and I founded the business and are the directors. I work on sales, marketing and account management. Jess oversees the web design team. We currently have eight members in the team.
Outside of the business, I enjoy going to the football every couple of weeks, and I run a few ultramarathons per year. My toughest race to date was 58 km with 3,000 m of vertical elevation.
Something people are often surprised to learn is that I’m very interested in dinosaurs. It blows my mind that for 150+ million years, giant monsters roamed the Earth. When I’m not working or running, I spend my time reading about dinosaurs. I’ve got a 90-million-year-old spinosaur tooth on my desk in the office, and some fossil ammonites that I picked up on a fossil-hunting trip to Lyme Regis. I also set up a little automation with ChatGPT that emails me a randomly generated daily dinosaur discovery every morning.
